I am sorry to say that here the main topic of conversation is the prevailing water shortage. This year, all the residents of this area have decided to take action and do something about the water shortage we face every year. Besides saving every drop of water, we are going to begin recycling of water. We have already developed rainwater-harvesting programmes.

Committees have been formed to keep a strict watch over the amount of water used in households and industries. Farmers who build storage tanks in their fields and have drip irrigation methods will be given seeds and fertilizers at discounted rates. We are trying to think up more ways to save water and store rainwater.

I will be really happy if you can give us some ideas, as you have a degree in environmental science. How is the water situation in your

city?
