The concept of 'Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam' was put forward by Indian thinkers. Indian literature explains the creation of the Universe. According to the Vedas, gases, space, the Sun, the Moon and the other planets were formed during the creation of the Universe. In the Puranas, the Universe is called 'Bahyantar'. The Upanishads mention that the Earth evolved from water.
